Wisetack Financing FAQs

Answers to common Wisetack financing questions — merchant and customer costs, approvals, 0% APR options, payouts, refunds, and managing the integration in Floorzap.

Cost to You

These questions cover what Wisetack financing costs you as the merchant, whether signing up affects your credit, and what Wisetack needs to verify your business.

How much does Wisetack cost me?

Once your business is approved for Wisetack, the standard rate is 3.9% per transaction. For example, on a $10,000 financed job, the fee is $390. There is no set-up fee, no credit card processing on top of Wisetack's fee, and no additional fees.

You pay the standard 3.9% rate unless you enroll in an extended 0% APR (Annual Percentage Rate) plan for 6, 12, or 24 months and your customer chooses one of those options. In that case, a higher rate applies. For extended 0% APR pricing, see Wisetack's 0% APR Add-Ons.

Does signing up for Wisetack pull my personal credit?

Signing up for Wisetack does not pull your personal credit. A merchant's personal credit is not checked during the Wisetack signup process.

What does Wisetack need to verify my business?

During Wisetack signup, Wisetack may ask for your business website and social media links to verify your business. For why Wisetack asks, what its underwriting looks for, and whether social media is required, see What Business Information Does Wisetack Need to Verify My Business?

Cost and Approval for Your Customers

These questions cover what Wisetack financing costs your customers, how they get approved, and how credit checks work.

How much does Wisetack financing cost my customers?

Financing through Wisetack has no prepayment penalties, origination fees, late fees, or compounding interest. Your customer's financing offer clearly shows the total amount they'll pay for each option, including interest.

All financing is subject to credit approval. Customer terms may vary. Payment options through Wisetack are provided by Wisetack's lending partners. For example, a $1,200 purchase could cost $104.89 a month for 12 months, based on an 8.9% APR, or $400 a month for 3 months, based on a 0% APR. Offers range from 0–35.9% APR based on creditworthiness. State interest rate caps may apply. No other financing charges or participation fees. See additional terms at https://www.wisetack.com/faqs.

How do my customers get approved for financing?

When you send a quote, your customer will see an "as low as" monthly calculation beside the total cost of the job. If they wish to pay via financing, they apply with Wisetack through a short application. They'll receive an instant response from Wisetack if they're eligible.

For the full pre-qualification walkthrough, including what your customer sees at each step, see How Does Pre-Qualification with Wisetack Work?

Can my customer apply for financing after the quote has been approved?

Your customer can still apply for Wisetack financing after the quote has been approved. When they view the approved quote, the option to apply for financing is still available.

Can I offer Wisetack financing to commercial customers?

Wisetack financing is designed for residential customers. In Floorzap, financing options appear only for contacts whose contact type has Wisetack financing turned on. By default, financing is on for the Customer and Retail contact types and off for all other contact types, so quotes and invoices for commercial contacts don't show Wisetack financing.

  • Changing which contact types show financing — this can't be changed from your Floorzap settings. Message Zappy and ask for Wisetack financing to be turned on or off for the contact type.

  • Customers who already pre-qualified — if a customer has already pre-qualified with Wisetack, their Wisetack financing still appears on their quotes and invoices, even if their contact type has financing turned off.

How many months can my customers choose to pay over?

Once approved for Wisetack financing, customers can choose to pay over 3 to 120 months (up to 10 years).

Is the Wisetack credit check a soft pull or a hard pull?

Checking eligibility uses a soft credit pull, which has no impact on your customer's credit score. This is what happens when a customer checks their financing options through Wisetack.

A hard credit pull may occur after a customer selects a loan option and signs the loan documents. Customers are informed of this before proceeding.

Can a returning customer reuse their Wisetack approval?

Each new purchase requires a new Wisetack application. However, if the second purchase occurs within 30 days of the previous one, Wisetack can reuse the prior credit pull, so a new credit check is not required. After 30 days, a full new application is needed.

0% APR Options

These questions cover Wisetack's 0% APR (Annual Percentage Rate) options — what's included, how to add extended terms, and why a customer might not see one.

Can I offer my customers 0% APR options?

All standard Wisetack plans include a 3-month 0% APR option for qualifying customers, at your standard transaction fee. You can also enroll in extended 0% APR add-ons for 6, 12, or 24 months, which carry a higher fee that varies by the option your customer chooses.

Can I trial a 0% APR add-on for a period of time?

You can trial a Wisetack 0% APR add-on for any period of time, and you can change or remove it at any time from your Wisetack Merchant Portal. For step-by-step instructions, see Wisetack: How to Add, Remove, or Manage 0% APR Financing Options.

Why didn't my customer see a 0% APR option?

0% APR approval isn't based on a single credit score threshold — Wisetack's lending partners evaluate the customer's full credit profile, so a customer with a strong credit score may still not qualify. For how the approval process works and where to direct customers with questions about a specific decision, see Why Was My Customer's 0% APR Financing Application Denied?

What credit score is needed to qualify for a 0% APR option?

There's no single credit score cutoff for a Wisetack 0% APR option. Lenders on the Wisetack platform approve customers with a wide range of credit profiles, considering factors like FICO (credit) score and debt-to-income ratio alongside loan amount and other financial indicators. We strongly recommend encouraging customers to start the application to check their options rather than trying to gauge their credit profile first — there is no credit impact for customers to check their options.

What percentage of approved customers will see a 0% APR option?

Lenders on the Wisetack platform approve around 74% of all applicants; roughly half of those applicants will see a 0% APR option in the application.

Payouts and Deposits

These questions cover when Wisetack pays you for a financed job, and whether you can receive a deposit before the job is complete.

When do I get paid out for a Wisetack-financed job?

Under Wisetack's standard terms, you get paid in full after your customer confirms the job is complete. The funds arrive in your bank account 1 to 3 business days after your customer confirms.

For the full payout process, including how it's tracked in your Floorzap Activity Feed, see How Am I Paid by Wisetack?

Can I get paid a deposit before the job is complete (Progress Payments)?

You can get paid a deposit before the job is complete if your business is approved for Wisetack's Progress Payments feature, which requires a separate approval from Wisetack. Progress Payments split the financed amount into two payouts: an up-front payout of up to 50% of the job amount, and the remainder on job completion. Each payout must be more than $500, and the two payouts together can't exceed $25,000.

For example, a $4,000 job with a 50% deposit is split into a $2,000 first payout and a $2,000 second payout. A $1,000 job with a 50% deposit isn't split, because each payout would be exactly $500 — the full amount is paid out as a single payout instead.

For eligibility, how to apply, and how it works in Floorzap, see How Do Wisetack Progress Payments Work. If your business isn't approved for Progress Payments, see How to Collect a Deposit When You're Not Approved for Wisetack Progress Payments.

Managing Wisetack

These questions cover refunds on Wisetack-financed jobs, customers who switch payment methods, turning Wisetack off, and promoting financing on your website.

How do I refund a customer who financed the job through Wisetack?

Refunds on Wisetack-financed jobs are not processed in Floorzap. Once the loan has settled and you have been paid, contact Wisetack directly to initiate the refund. You can reach Wisetack support in any of these ways:

Wisetack initiates full refunds only. If you need to refund part of a financed job, contact Wisetack to discuss your options. Floorzap Support cannot initiate or expedite a Wisetack refund on your behalf.

What if my customer applies for financing but decides to pay another way?

If your customer started a Wisetack financing application and then chose to pay by credit card or another method, sending the invoice may fail with an error saying the balance does not match the financed amount. Resend the invoice and select Yes on the Update Financing Amount prompt — your customer can then pay from the invoice as normal. The financing application does not need to be cancelled.

For the full walkthrough, including what the Wisetack scope change request means, see My Customer Applied for Financing but Wants to Pay Another Way.

Can I turn off the Wisetack integration?

There are two levels of turning Wisetack financing off, depending on what you need:

  • Hide financing from customers — turn on Hide Wisetack Financing at Settings > System Settings > Payment tab. This removes Wisetack financing from quotes, invoices, and the customer portal while keeping the integration connected. Any user with access to System Settings can change this setting.

  • Disconnect the Wisetack integration entirely — this can't be done from your Floorzap settings. Message Zappy and ask for the Wisetack integration to be disabled for your account.

For the full steps and what each option affects, see How to Turn Off Wisetack Financing for Your Floorzap Account.
