If a customer's application for 0% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) financing through Wisetack was denied, it's natural to wonder why — especially if they have a good credit score. This article explains how Wisetack's approval process works and where to direct customers with specific questions.
How Wisetack's Approval Process Works
Approval for 0% APR promotional financing is not based on a single credit score threshold. Wisetack's lending partners evaluate the borrower's full credit profile — including factors like debt-to-income ratio, credit history, and other financial indicators — not just a FICO score.
This means a customer with a strong credit score may still not qualify for 0% APR options, depending on their overall credit profile at the time of application.
What the customer receives: Declined applicants receive an adverse action notice from Wisetack explaining the reason for the decision. This is sent directly to the borrower — Floorzap and your store do not have visibility into the specific reason.
What Reps and Merchants Can Do
Floorzap support and merchants do not have access to individual borrower decisions or the ability to investigate why a specific application was declined. Borrower-specific financing questions should be directed to Wisetack directly.
Direct the customer to [email protected] for any questions about their specific application or the decision they received.
Setting expectations upfront: When presenting Wisetack financing to customers, let them know that 0% APR options are subject to credit approval and are not guaranteed — even for customers with strong credit. Wisetack approves approximately 74% of applicants overall, but 0% APR options are available to roughly half of those approved.
