When material moves from Allocated to Prepared status (staged for dispatch), the Allocated quantity resets to 0. This is expected - the material has progressed past reservation to the next stage. To see the full committed quantity, check the Actual Allocation column, which combines both Allocated and Prepared.
What an Inventory Adjustment Does
An inventory adjustment in Floorzap adds to or reduces the quantity of a product in stock. It also raises or lowers the total value of your inventory by the cost on the material times the adjustment quantity. For example, adding two boxes that cost $45 each raises your inventory assets by $90.
Every adjustment in Floorzap has an Adjustment Type (Addition or Reduction), a Qty to Adjust, and a Comments box that must be filled in before you can save. A reduction lowers the quantity you have available, and Floorzap won't save a reduction larger than the quantity available.
When Should I Use an Inventory Adjustment?
Use an inventory adjustment in Floorzap when the quantity in the system no longer matches what is physically in stock. Adjustments are for corrections, not for everyday work. Common cases:
You find a box that was left over from a job, or returned without being logged, and want to add it to inventory. Use an addition adjustment.
A physical count shows fewer boxes than Floorzap does, for example 18 boxes counted where Floorzap shows 20. Use a reduction adjustment.
When Should I Not Use an Inventory Adjustment?
Inventory adjustments in Floorzap are for corrections, not for everyday work. Don't put non-inventory products on a work order and then create an adjustment to offset the inventory balance. Instead, add the stock as inventory and use allocate, prepare and pick up on the work order. That keeps your inventory tracking accurate.
Note: Every adjustment changes your inventory value, so an adjustment used to offset a different product also throws off the value of your inventory.
How Do I Adjust Rolled Goods?
For rolled goods in Floorzap, an adjustment is made by unit on a single roll, not on the whole roll. Select the roll number you want to adjust, then enter the adjustment in the product's unit, such as square yards or square feet.
