Importing products from B2B vendors streamlines your inventory updates and keeps your data accurate. Here's a step-by-step guide to finding, importing, and managing B2B files, as well as adding and validating vendors.
Supported file format: Floorzap's B2B integration supports the standard FCB2B Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) 832 (Price/Sales Catalog) file format only. There is no custom Floorzap mapping guide. The import maps standard 832 fields to your site's configured Units of Measure and Categories.
Spreadsheet-style imports (such as manual import templates) are a separate process and are not compatible with the FCB2B feed. Other file types are not currently supported.
Importing B2B Files
To import a B2B file, navigate to Non-Inventory Products and select the vendor and file you want to bring in.
Go to Non-Inventory Products and select Import From B2B.
Choose the manufacturer you want to import from.
Review the list of available files. Scroll to the right and click the Import button next to the file you want to bring in.
To check your previous imports, click Import History.
View your import activity, including recent files and dates.
For details on a past import, click the eye icon to see the products that were brought in from that file.
If you need to re-import a file, click Import again from the file details.
Settings Changes Apply When an Import Runs
If you change a conversion setting, for example enabling square-foot conversion for a carpet catalog, nothing changes on its own. The conversion runs the next time you import a vendor file with the setting turned on, or when you use the Run Script button. At that point it converts all eligible on-demand products still in square yards, not only the file you just imported. Run a fresh import to apply the change.
For more detail on this behavior, see Why Your B2B Unit Conversion Setting Didn't Change Existing Products.
Opening a Past File
Opening a previously imported vendor file and saving it does not pull in new pricing or product details from the vendor. Updated pricing arrives in a new file from the vendor. Import that file to get current data.
Adding and Validating Vendors
Before B2B files can be imported, vendors must be set up in Settings with their connection credentials. Use the Validate button to confirm the connection is working.
Click Settings.
Select Vendors.
Add a new vendor by clicking the button, or search for an existing vendor using the search box.
Choose a vendor to view their details and B2B connection settings. Here you'll see the host URL (populated from the vendor list), username, and password fields.
If available, click the Validate button to check the B2B connection. This confirms the setup and lets you know if files are available for import.
Verifying Imports
After importing, you can confirm that files were received and review what was updated. Return to Non-Inventory Products > Import From B2B. Files ready for import appear here. If a file is listed, it's ready to be imported.
