Does the B2B unit conversion setting change the products already in my catalog? Yes, for some of them. If you turned on the "Convert To SqFt From SqYd On B2B Import" checkbox on the Company Information page in Admin, every B2B import converts your carpet products from square yards (SqYd) to square feet (SqFt), including products that were already in your catalog from earlier imports. Inventory (stock) products are the exception.
Why the Setting Changes Existing Products
The B2B unit conversion setting runs after a B2B import finishes, and it looks at your whole catalog, not only the file you just imported. Saving the setting does not convert anything by itself.
Each time a B2B import runs with the setting on, any product that is not an inventory (stock) product and is listed in square yards is converted to square feet. That includes products that were imported before you turned the setting on.
Which Products the B2B Unit Conversion Setting Converts
After a B2B import with the setting on, Floorzap treats products in your catalog as follows:
Products that are not inventory (stock) products and are listed in square yards are converted to square feet, whether they came from this import or an earlier one.
Inventory (stock) products are not converted by the setting.
During the import itself, an existing product's unit changes only when that product is already in square feet (rolled goods). Other existing products keep their unit during the import, and the conversion then runs afterward.
How to See the Converted Units
To see your B2B products in the converted unit of measure (UOM), run a fresh import of the vendor catalog after enabling the setting. The conversion runs when that import finishes.
For the full import walkthrough, see How to Import Products from B2B Vendors.
A fresh import does not create duplicate product records. If you need to change the unit on an item you already have, see How to Change the Unit of Measure (UOM) on an Inventory Item.
