Why Does My Materials Sold Report Total Differ From My Other Reports

Find out why the Materials Sold report total is lower than your other reports, and how to see more of your material sales.

Why does my Materials Sold report total differ from my other reports? If the total on your Materials Sold report (Reports > Vendor / Materials > Materials Sold) looks far lower than what you see elsewhere in Floorzap, this is expected. The Materials Sold report counts sales differently from reports like Non-Inventory Products > Overview, so the two totals are not meant to match.

Why the Materials Sold Report Total Is Lower

The Materials Sold report shows a smaller total because two things narrow what it includes:

  • Pickup tracking: The Materials Sold report only includes products that have been marked Picked Up through inventory tracking. A material that was invoiced but never picked up or returned is not counted.

  • Stock Type filter: The Stock Type filter on the Materials Sold report starts set to "Non-Inventory" when the report first loads, which limits the results further.

Because of these two things, the Materials Sold report can show a much smaller total, or a bar chart that shows a count with no line-item breakdown below it, even when your invoices reflect far more in material sales.

How to See More of Your Material Sales

To see more of your material sales than the Materials Sold report shows by default, use one of these options:

  • To broaden the Materials Sold report, set the Stock Type filter to "Both." The report then shows both inventory and non-inventory products, but it still only counts products that have been marked Picked Up.

  • To see every non-inventory product line item on your invoices, whether or not it was picked up, use the Non-Inventory Products > Overview report. It lists each invoice line item and does not require pickup tracking, but it covers non-inventory products only, so inventory products are not in it.

If your totals still look off after you adjust these filters, contact Floorzap Support with the report name, the date range and the values you expected to see.
