Why Does My Inventory Import Say There's No Margin?

If your inventory import shows a "no margin" error even though Default Margin Percent is filled in, check the Selling Price column for zeros. Remove them and re-import.

If your Floorzap inventory import shows a "no margin" error even though the Default Margin Percent column is filled in, the cause is usually a 0 in the Selling Price column.

A selling price of 0 makes the margin calculation invalid, even when a Default Margin Percent is present. The import flags the row with a "no margin" error, which is misleading because the Default Margin Percent column isn't the problem.

How to Fix the "No Margin" Import Error

To fix a "no margin" error on an inventory import, remove the zeros from the Selling Price column and re-import the file:

  1. Open your import file and find the Selling Price column.

  2. Delete any 0 values and leave those cells empty.

  3. Save the file, upload it again, and click Map and Preview. The rows that showed the "no margin" error should now have green check marks.

If you don't have a selling price for a product yet, leave the Selling Price cell empty instead of entering 0. Floorzap then calculates the price from Product Cost and Default Margin Percent.
