Email Marketing campaigns in Floorzap send to your customer list, and you can narrow that list using customer attributes. Campaigns cannot be targeted based on what a customer has done. Here is what campaign targeting can and cannot do, so you know what to expect before you build a campaign.
Who Campaigns Send To
The list behind every Email Marketing campaign is your customers in Floorzap. You do not build or import a separate audience for campaigns — your Floorzap customer records are the source.
What You Can Segment On
You can narrow a campaign's audience using conditions based on customer attributes — information stored on the customer record itself. Examples include:
Contact type — for example, targeting only builders or only retail customers
Lead source — for example, targeting only customers who came from a particular referral source
Attribute-based conditions like these are the full extent of campaign targeting in Floorzap today.
What You Cannot Segment On
Campaigns cannot be targeted based on customer behavior. There is no way to build a campaign that sends because a customer took a particular action in Floorzap. For example, you cannot target customers based on whether they:
Viewed an invoice
Opened or approved a quote
Made a payment
Took any other action on a record
If you are moving to Floorzap from a marketing automation platform, this is the main difference to plan for. Floorzap campaigns segment on who a customer is, not on what a customer has done. Behavior-triggered email flows are not available.
Building a Campaign
Once you know how you want to segment your audience, the campaign setup process walks through selecting your list, naming the campaign, choosing a template, and scheduling the send. For the full walkthrough, see Overview of the Email Marketing Platform.
