Creating a Lead & Converting to Customer

QUICK STEPS

  1. Go to the Leads section and click Add New Lead.

  2. Fill in the customer's basic info — name, phone, email, and lead source (referral, website, walk-in, etc.).

  3. At minimum, enter name, contact method, and contact type — this drives how FloorZap calculates down payments later.

  4. Include lead source too — it feeds into reporting.

  5. Click Save — you'll land on the lead record, where you can log notes, interactions, samples, and activity history.

  6. When the lead approves their quote, they're automatically converted to a customer and an invoice is created — or you can manually convert them at any time.

  7. Once converted, the customer lives in the Customers section with full contact details, job history, payment history, and notes.

TIPS💡 Before creating a new lead, search to make sure the customer doesn't already exist — this avoids duplicates.

Remember: Contact type may seem optional, but they drive down payment calculations — always confirm it is accurate.

WATCH OUT ⚠ Lead source is required for reporting — don't skip it.
