The Lead Board in Floorzap tracks a lead's journey through your sales pipeline — it is not a snapshot of current status only. This is why a single contact can appear in more than one column at the same time.
How the Lead Board Works
Each column on the Lead Board represents a stage in the pipeline:
Leads — contacts who have been entered as a lead and are being actively tracked
Quotes — leads who have had a quote created
Invoices — leads whose quote has been approved and converted to an invoice
A contact moves through these stages progressively — they don't disappear from earlier columns when they advance. This gives you a full view of pipeline activity at every stage.
Best Practice Workflow
For accurate Lead Board reporting, always follow this workflow:
Enter as a Lead — when a new prospect contacts you, create them as a Lead (not directly as a Customer).
Nurture through the pipeline — log tasks, measurements, and follow-ups against the lead record.
Create and send a quote — the lead will appear in the Quotes column.
Quote approved/converted — once the quote is approved, Floorzap automatically converts the lead to Customer status and the record moves into the Invoices column.
Skipping the Lead entry creates reporting confusion. If someone is entered directly as a Customer without going through the Lead stage, they will only appear in the Lead Board if someone is manually "tracking" them as a lead. This breaks pipeline reporting and makes it difficult to measure lead-to-close rates accurately.
Why Is a Customer Showing in the Leads Column?
If a contact was entered directly as a Customer (bypassing the Lead stage), they can still appear in the Leads column if someone is tracking them as a lead. This is a sign that the Lead entry step was skipped — it won't cause data loss, but it will affect the accuracy of your pipeline reporting.
