How to Set Up Product QR Codes for Your Showroom

Turn on product QR codes by category, upload your company icon, choose what customers see when they scan, set Internal SKU price ranges for your sales staff, and find a product's QR code.

Product QR codes let showroom customers scan a label to see a product's details and pricing. Before you can print QR codes, an administrator sets them up under Settings > Integrations > Product QR. QR codes are turned on one product category at a time, such as Carpet, Hardwood, or Vinyl.

Set Up Product QR Codes

To set up product QR codes, choose a product category, pick which details customers see when they scan, optionally set an Internal SKU price range, and click Save. Repeat these steps for each category you want QR codes on.

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Integrations.

  3. Click Product QR.

  4. Optional: next to Upload Icon, choose your company icon. The icon must be exactly 40 x 40 pixels. It uploads as soon as you select the file and applies to every category, so you don't need to click Save for it. When you print QR codes, the Show Icon option in Bulk QR adds this icon to your labels.

  5. Select a Category, such as Carpet, Hardwood, or Vinyl. A status line confirms whether the category is already on, for example "Carpet is enabled for Product QR" or "Carpet is not enabled for Product QR." The settings in the next steps apply only to the category you select.

  6. Set each field to SHOW or HIDE to choose what customers see when they scan a QR code in this category. For a category that isn't on yet, every field starts on SHOW, so switch off anything you don't want customers to see. The fields available depend on the category. Common ones include:

    • Price With Margin — the product's selling price per unit.

    • SQFT Calculation — shows the customer an estimated price in the scan page calculator.

    • Available in Stock — shows how much of the product you have on hand.

    • Product Name, Sku, Vendor, Style, Color, and category-specific details such as Species or Fiber Brand.

  7. Optional: to give sales staff a price range, set Internal Sku to SHOW, then enter a Salesman Min Percentage and Salesman Max Percentage. Both percentages must be greater than 0 for the Internal SKU to appear. See the Internal SKU section below for how these percentages work.

  8. Click Save. Saving is what turns on QR codes for the selected category. A "QR code details updated successfully" message appears, and the status line changes to show the category is enabled. To see every category you've turned on, open the Configured Category tab.

Selecting a category without clicking Save does not turn on QR codes for that category. If you skip Save, customers who scan those products see "This Product is not yet configured. Please contact Administrator."

How Internal SKU Pricing Works

Internal SKU is an optional QR code setting that gives your sales staff a price range for each product without showing that range to customers. When a customer scans the QR code, they see what looks like a product code. Your sales staff can read that code as the product's minimum and maximum selling price.

How to Read an Internal SKU

An Internal SKU is made of two parts separated by a hyphen. Each part is the first letter of your company name followed by a price in cents. For example, if your company is Acme Flooring, the Internal SKU A262-A306 means:

  • Minimum price: A262 = $2.62 per unit

  • Maximum price: A306 = $3.06 per unit

How the Internal SKU Price Range Is Calculated

The Internal SKU price range is calculated from the product's cost and the Salesman Min and Max Percentages. How the percentage is applied depends on the Calculate Sales Percentage Based on setting in your company information, which is set to either Markup or Margin. For example, for a product that costs $2.00 per square foot, with a minimum of 31% and a maximum of 53%:

  • Markup adds the percentage on top of cost. Minimum: $2.00 + 31% ($0.62) = $2.62. Maximum: $2.00 + 53% ($1.06) = $3.06. Internal SKU for Acme Flooring: A262-A306.

  • Margin sets the price so the percentage is your profit share of the selling price. Minimum: $2.00 ÷ (1 − 0.31) = $2.90. Maximum: $2.00 ÷ (1 − 0.53) = $4.26. Internal SKU for Acme Flooring: A290-A426.

Internal SKU percentages are set per category, so you can use different ranges for carpet, hardwood, vinyl, and other categories. If you use an Inclusive Price for the category, it's added to the range.

Set an Internal SKU Range for One Product

To give a single product its own Internal SKU range instead of the category percentages, enter dollar amounts in Sales Rep Min ($) and Sales Rep Max ($) in the Product QR Code card on that product's information screen. Product-level amounts override the category's Salesman Min and Max Percentages for that product.

Use uneven percentages, such as 31% and 53% instead of 30% and 50%, so the Internal SKU looks more like a real product code to customers.

What Customers See When They Scan a QR Code

When a showroom customer scans a product QR code, they see the product details you set to SHOW for that category, along with any product images. Buttons at the bottom of the scan page let the customer:

  • Calc — enter their total area, such as square feet, and see an estimated price. The estimate rounds up to full cartons based on the product's coverage. It appears only when SQFT Calculation is set to SHOW for the category.

  • Stock — see available stock. This button appears for inventory products only.

  • Like — send your company a message with their name, email, and phone number.

  • Print PDF — save the product details as a PDF.

View a Product's QR Code

After product QR codes are set up for a category, you can view an individual product's QR code from that product's information screen.

  1. Choose either Inventory Products or Non-Inventory Products on the left menu, then choose Product List and search for the product.

  2. Open the product's information screen by editing or viewing the product.

  3. Find the QR code in the Product QR Code card on the right-hand side of the pop-up window.

If a question mark icon appears next to Product QR Code on the product screen, the product's category isn't set up for QR codes yet. Follow the setup steps above for that category and click Save.

Print Your QR Codes

Once product QR codes are set up, you can print them in bulk from your product list using Bulk QR. You don't need to reprint QR codes when prices change, because the current price shows automatically on scan. For step-by-step printing instructions, see How to Print Product QR Codes.
