How to Create a Quote

Create a quote in Floorzap: set up the customer and job details, add services, materials, and labor, then save and review the quote before you send it.

Use these steps to create a quote in Floorzap, from choosing the customer to reviewing the finished quote before you send it.

Set Up the Quote

Setting up a quote means choosing the customer and entering the job details before you add any line items.

  1. Click Quotes.

  2. Click Create New Quote.

  3. Select the Customer.

  4. If needed, change the Sales Rep.

  5. Name the Job.

  6. Select a Quote Type.

  7. Choose a Location.

  8. Set the Quote Expiration Date and Recipient Contacts.

  9. Select your Service Type and Service Site Contact, and verify the Tax Rate.

  10. If you have Measure Square measurements for this customer, select them. For details, see Importing Measurements from Measure Square.

  11. Click Begin Quote.

Add Services, Materials, and Labor

After you begin the quote, add the services, materials, and labor for the job. You can import a service template to add a set of line items at once, or add each line item yourself.

  1. If you have a service template for this job, click Import Template and select it. To set one up, see How to Create a Service Template and Add It to a Quote.

  2. Add the service for this job, such as Carpet.

  3. Select your Materials. Use the Search Box or the search filters to find products, select the ones you want, and click Add Materials.

  4. Add your Square Footage. This updates the square footage for the entire quote.

  5. Add your Labor Items. You can select all labor items or only the ones you need.

  6. Add any other line items you need. You can add material and labor items manually, or add an expense line, such as a Freight Fee, to cover freight or other fees.

Save and Review the Quote

Once your line items are in, save the quote, then use the customer quote options and the customer view to check what your customer will see before you send it.

  1. Click Save Quote.

  2. Open the Customer Quote Options to add or remove items from the quote, adjust quantities, show the unit price, and more.

  3. View the customer quote to review what's included before you send it.

When the quote is ready, send it to your customer. For sending options, customer approval, and converting a quote to an invoice, see How to Send a Quote & Convert to an Invoice.
