This article covers three common questions merchants have once Wisetack financing is active: how payments show up in Floorzap and QuickBooks, how to handle the financing fee in job costing, and what Wisetack's guidelines are for promoting financing to customers.
How Wisetack Payments Show Up in Floorzap and QuickBooks
Once a customer releases funds through Wisetack, the Floorzap invoice updates to Paid. The payment then syncs to QuickBooks Online the same way other Floorzap payments do — no separate action is required.
Note: The invoice will not show as Paid until the customer has released the funds in their Wisetack portal. If a job is complete but the invoice still shows a balance, the customer may not have released the payment yet.
Wisetack Merchant Fees and Job Costing
Wisetack's merchant transaction fee (3.9% for standard plans, higher for 0% APR add-ons) is not automatically added as a job cost in Floorzap. If you want to capture this cost for accurate job profitability reporting, you will need to add it manually as a cost line on the job.
Tip: Some merchants choose to factor the financing fee into their pricing upfront rather than tracking it as a separate job cost. Either approach works — just be consistent so your job costing reports stay accurate.
Wisetack Marketing Guidelines for Merchants
Wisetack provides guidelines for how merchants should (and shouldn't) promote financing options to customers.
Do:
Send customers a prequalification link before or alongside your estimate so they can check their options early.
Mention that financing is available and encourage customers to apply to see their options — checking eligibility does not impact their credit score.
Use Wisetack's approved marketing materials (badges, banners) available in the Merchant Portal under Marketing Tools.
Don't:
Promise or guarantee specific rates, terms, or approval outcomes to customers — these are determined by Wisetack's lending partners, not by you.
Nudge or pressure customers to release payment before the work is complete.
Represent financing terms as your own offering rather than Wisetack's.
