How to Reset a Signed Invoice to Make Corrections

Sometimes a customer signs an invoice and you later discover an error—like entering the wrong quantity. Normally, a signed invoice locks, preventing any further changes. Thankfully, you can reset the invoice to fix mistakes quickly and securely.

Step 1: Go to the invoice you need to correct.

Step 2: Select Invoice Actions.

Step 3: Click Reset Invoice.

Step 4: Enter a reason for the reset in the Reason field.

Step 5: Click Save.

Step 6: Make the necessary corrections to the invoice details.

Step 7: Check the invoice history—hover over the entry to confirm the corrections have been logged.

Step 8: Save the corrected invoice.

Step 9: Send the updated invoice back out to your customer.

Resetting a signed invoice keeps your record accurate and transparent, while letting you quickly fix any mistakes before resending. Always check the history section to track every change you’ve made.
