Invoice vs Work Order

Knowing the difference between the invoice and the work order in Floorzap.

In this article, you'll learn the distinction between an invoice and a work order in the Floors app, and how to use each effectively.

Step 1: Understand the role of an invoice in the Floors app. The invoice serves as your customer-facing document. Include all items you intend to charge the customer on the invoice.

Switch from the invoice to the work order with ease.

Step 2: Recognize the function of a work order. The work order acts as your internal document. Use it to input all job costing, assign contractors, and monitor the progress of your job from start to finish.

Allocate products and special order products from the work order.

Step 3: Be aware that changes made to the work order won't import to the invoice.

However, if you make changes to the invoice,

you're able to import those changes to your work order. Do this by clicking on the Invoice Changes button

and selecting the relevant items.

Step 4: When adding items to the work order, include items you don't plan to charge the customer for, like an extra bucket of glue or similar items.

Remember, any item that the customer should pay for must be charged on the invoice side.
