How to Create a Service Template

How to easily create a service template.

This article will guide you through the process of creating a service template, adding it to quotes, and replacing products in the template. By the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to efficiently manage your service templates.

Step 1: Before creating your service template, ensure that the service you want to create a template for is in the system list. Navigate to Settings,

then System Lists,

and finally Service Types.

If the service isn't listed, add a new one by clicking Add New.

Step 2: Verify that you've associated labor items with the service or in a general service. This ensures an easy setup of your service template.

Step 3: Go back to Settings and select Service Templates.

Here, add your service template by clicking Add New.

Click Add Service.

You can either scroll through the list or type in your service.

Give your template a name and confirm by clicking the blue check mark.

Step 4: Add materials or a material line item to your template. Adding a material line item provides a placeholder for potential materials.

Add a few materials.

Step 5: Add your services. Having your services already in your system list simplifies this step.

Step 6: Save your template once you've added all your line items.

You can preview what your template will look like.

Step 7: Add this template to quotes. Create a quote, select a customer, and begin the quote.

Step 8: Import your service template.

You'll see it's now part of the quote. Replace the product with the actual product by clicking on the Replace Product button.

Click the Change Material button.

You'll see your new materials have been added.

Step 9: Save your quote.

And that's it! You've successfully created a service template, added it to a quote, and replaced products.
