Effective with this update, all merchants processing through Floorzap Payments with Adyen must maintain PCI DSS compliance. To help merchants meet that requirement, we now offer a built-in PCI Tool accessible through the existing merchant portal.
What is the PCI Tool?
It is a feature built right into your existing merchant portal that walks you through the PCI DSS self-assessment - called an SAQ - that card networks require every merchant to complete.
Why do I need to do this at all?
It is a requirement set by the card networks for any business that accepts card payments, similar to how a restaurant needs a health inspection to keep serving food. We built the PCI Tool so meeting that requirement is simple rather than something you have to find through a third-party vendor.
How much does it cost?
The PCI Tool is $25 per month, billed the same way as your other processing fees. Billing starts on the date you're given access to the tool - typically the date your merchant account is approved.
How long do I have to complete it?
You'll have 90 days from the date you gain access to the tool to complete your assessment. We recommend starting as soon as you get access.
What happens if I miss the 90-day deadline?
A $75 monthly Non-Compliance Fee is charged in addition to the $25 monthly PCI Program Fee. This fee reflects the added cost and exposure that comes with being non-compliant. It continues every month until compliance is achieved or an Alternative Compliance Election is approved.
What if my compliance status lapses, even after I've completed it once?
PCI compliances needs to be maintained continuously, not just when you certify compliance. If your status lapses for any reason, the $75 PCI Non-Compliance Fee starts again the following month and continues until compliance is restored.
What happens if I do not pay the non-compliance fee?
If it goes unpaid for 60 days or more, your processing access can be suspended.
What if I'm already PCI compliant through another vendor?
You can make what is called an Alternative Compliance Election. You will need to submit written notice and an Attestation of Compliance dated within the past 12 months. Once we confirm your documentation, we will remove PCI tool access from your merchant portal and stop the $25 monthly fee as of your next billing cycle.
If I choose the Alternative Compliance Election, is it a one-time submission?
You'll need to keep it current. Your documentation has to be renewed every year and you will need to provide updated proof within 30 days of your previous document expiring. If we do not receive it by the deadline, the PCI tool access and the monthly fee will be reinstated.
