This goes through the billing requirement for emailing a quote.
In this article, you'll learn how to correctly fill out the billing contact information in the "View Edit Details" section of a quote, enabling you to successfully email the quote to your customer.
Step 1: Navigate to the "View Edit Details" section of your quote.
Step 2: Click on View Edit Details.
Step 3: Look for the billing contact field. It's crucial to fill this in before emailing a quote to a customer. Click on the field.
Step 4: Select a contact from the dropdown menu. For this tutorial, we're using test contacts. Type in "good" to select the "good customer" contact.
Note: If you don't select a billing contact, you'll encounter an error when you try to save changes and email the quote.
Step 5: After filling in the billing contact, save your changes. Now, you're ready to email the quote to your customer.
Step 6: Click on Email quote to customer. Don't worry if you see a warning about profit margins; this is just a test.
Remember, if you haven't selected a billing contact, an error will pop up, preventing you from emailing the quote.
Step 7: Ensure the recipient contact email and the billing contact fields are filled in. The billing contact field is particularly important.
Step 8: If you haven't filled in the billing contact, let's see what happens. Remove the billing contact, scroll to the top, and click on Save changes.
Step 9: Try to email the quote again. You'll see a "missing email address" error, even if there's an email address attached to the customer. This is because the billing contact isn't selected.
Step 10: Click on View Edit Details again and select the billing contact.
Step 11: Click OK, then type in "good customer" in the billing contact field.
Step 12: Save your changes.
Step 13: Now, you can successfully email the quote to your customer. If you've filled in all the necessary details, you'll receive a success message. Remember, the billing contact field must be filled out.
